Family Portrait Sessions
What does a portrait session cost?
Our family portrait sessions are typically photographed outside at one of the many parks or open spaces in Folsom or El Dorado Hills. When you call to make an appointment, it helps to have an idea of where you want your family photographed. If you’d like us to give you some ideas, that’s fine too. We offer a few different session types to fit each family’s individual needs:
Basic Family Session
- $50 +tax -
Families don’t need the entire gamut of photos every time they come out for a portrait. The Basic Family Session is a great way to get a group portrait of the family for holiday cards or just to have a nice portrait of everyone. At our basic sessions, we only take photos of the entire family group. These sessions last between 15 and 20 minutes.
Silver Family Session
- $75 +tax -
The silver family session includes a group portrait of the family, a group portrait of the kids together and one pose for each child individually. The Silver Family Session is ideal for families with older kids and may want a nice photo of each of them to give as gifts. Plan on about 20 to 30 minutes for this session.
Gold Family Session
- $100 +tax -
Every few years, it’s worth it to invest in superb quality photos of the family. As the kids grow older, you’ll want a complete photo session with lots of photos. The gold family session is a full service portrait session including a family group portrait, all the kids together, each child individually, each child with the parents and a few candid poses of the family together (like walking together). Plan on about an hour for this session.
Candid Session
- $125 +tax -
The candid session is a unique session to capture the kids’ play time. This isn’t a traditional session where the photos are planned, directed and custom lit. It is important to understand in advance that while we may try to orchestrate an image or give some direction, candid sessions are intended to look natural or journalistic, so the less interaction with our subjects the better the photos usually turn out. The photos from these sessions look GREAT in black and white and put into a book.
The candid session is a minimum of 30 minutes to ensure we get plenty of images. This session includes a three-print wall frame.
*Payment for your session is required to set your the appointment. We allow for one reschedule of your appointment except for inclement weather. Should you need to reschedule, we require 24 hours notice to prevent losing your retainer.
** We try to make sure everyone looks great in your final images. This means we adjust for color, contrast, exposure, etc. to ensure the prints you get back are technically perfect. If you need additional retouching to alter something we don’t have control over, a retouching fee may apply. These include things like head swaps, braces removal, blemish removal, flyaway hair, etc.
