Photography to me is more than just taking pictures. I see every portrait session as a way to create an heirloom that will preserve memories not just for a while, but a lifetime. As the kids get older, there is no way to go back and re-capture that toothless grin, the mischievous look, the tousled hair or those youthful freckles. Too often people say they need to get a really nice family portrait made because they never have and the kids are getting older. My heart always goes out to these families who, without even knowing it, are missing out on preserving that memory.

Something special happens at our family portrait sessions. We laugh and play, and tell stories and jokes. We talk about memories and through it all, we begin to form a bond. As we get to know each other a little better, we connect in a way that just doesn’t happen when you go to the mall for family portraits. We don’t follow a “formula” or a set list of photos to take. Instead, we make photographs that tell your family’s unique story.

My goal for every family portrait is to create a work of art; a masterpiece, that gets displayed in the home for a long time.
